# National Signaling Authority

> The independent standards body that defines, certifies, and maintains the standards for trustworthy signaling across search engines (SEO) and answer engines (AEO).

The National Signaling Authority (NSA) is an independent industry standards organization. It publishes the Signaling Trust Framework (STF), certifies organizations that meet it, and maintains a public registry so any Signaling Compliance Mark can be independently verified. It is not a government agency and does not act on behalf of any search engine or answer engine.
